I've been here several times. I'm a huge fan. Pretty good New York pizza. The first time I came here it was a bit salty. The last 3-4 times the pizza has been top notch. This place is amazing. Great late night NY style pie. You can't place an order to go for slices which is lame as hell lol. I shoudl deduct two stars for that. So annoying. Now I'm here waiting bc they refuse to take orders to go even tho I live 3 mins away. Oh well. That policy sucks in my opinion. Let me order my dam food to go! lol. This is America.

This was a great spot to grab a quick lunch if you're in Midtown. I love their take on New York-style pizza--they've definitely nailed the thin, crunchy crust! I decided to check them out because they were offering a free slice of either pepperoni or cheese pizza in exchange for a voting sticker, which was such a fun and generous idea. The pizza was delicious, and I'm already planning to come back to try their other varieties. The people working there were super nice and outgoing, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. This would be a perfect place to catch up with friends over some great pizza and good vibes. The only downside is the parking lot--it's pretty small, which is expected given the Midtown location.

Good pizza at a great price. Brought our vote stickers in for a free slice and bought a 2nd one to share. I promise to always come back to trade in my vote sticker for a free slice and to come back before the next election

Came here for a free cheese pizza after voting (they had a limited time special where you trade in your voting sticker for a slice) and it was so good! Really large slices kinda remind me of NY styled pizza. It gave mom and pop shop vibes and the staff were super friendly. Definitely want to come around to try their other menu thens.

We ordered takeout for the office from Home Slice last week. They don't offer delivery so someone had to run over to pick it up, but it was easy. We ordered the Margherita pizza, Sausage and Ricotta pizza, Pepperoni and Mushroom pizza, Garlic Knots and the Italian assorted sub. The pizza was hot, fresh and enormous (we ordered the large). Knots and sub were also both great, though some were disappointed to find that the Italian comes with mayo on it. Haven't been to the restaurant in person but definitely recommend their take out!

I am so happy that home slice is now in Houston! Hubbs and I had been to another location in ATX. When this Houston location opened up we knew we'd be regulars- and we've here way too many times. The ambiance is very relaxed and the service is amazing! We will obviously be returning endlessly.

Home Slice is a Home Run. Checked this place out during election night because of their promo for a free slice. I've driven past it many times (hard to miss if you're in the area) and was really happy with the quality and service. It was pretty busy so I didn't expect to have the best experience but the whole staff held it down. The two servers that were calling out names were super nice and accomodating. They tried to help me when they saw I needed a hand even though the line was out the door. We stayed outside which was really nice since the weather's cooled down. It felt spacious and inviting and like a cool spot to hang out. The wait for the pizza was 20 - 30 min which was fair. I half expected a rushed pizza since they were packed but nope. Ended up having one of the best pies with #6. Me and my gf devoured it. For a medium, the pizza was still large. The texture of the crust was crispy and firm and held up for its size. The globs of Ricotta were generous and the pizza was not greasy and overall well balanced and delicious. Definitely coming back in the future and probably going to order the same thing. It's that good. This shot up my list to #2 top pizza spots in Houston for the quality and service.

I got a pepperoni pizza slice, which was FREE because they were doing a deal for the election (turn in your I voted sticker for a free slice). I've never gone here before but thought this was such a good deal that I decided to come in and now's my chance! I came on a Friday during lunch around 11:30. I had to circle the block a few times because of parking.. there's a parking lot dedicated for them in front of the restaurant but if its full you gotta find street parking which was also slightly difficult because it's right next to breakfast klub. I ended up getting a spot in the front on my third drive around lol Anyways, you order at the counter and then they call out your name when your order is ready, they ended taking it to me since I was sitting outside. They have inside and outdoor seating, I believe there's a second floor? The outside area was cute! There were a lot of tables and each table had the little red pepper and oregano shakers. Employees were quick to bus the tables when people left too. The pizza was nice warm and cheesy! The crust was thin but wasn't floppy, had a good bite/crunch. All in all would definitely come back!

The pizza is good, but the star of the show is definitely the Italian Assorted Sub! So so good! Make sure to ask for hot peppers! Staff can be hit or miss. Sometimes not very pleasant but the sandwich is worth it. Lots of outdoor tables, a handful of booths inside.

Even though Home Slice made its name in Austin, Houston is really a direct beneficiary of their expansion considering the pizza game here (#1) has left much to be desired. While I can't completely say this is reminiscent of pies out in NYC, I will say it's on a similar level to the OG location in Austin. And thankfully, I've had good experiences there and enjoy what they have to offer here. The Midtown location is so ideal on so many levels. It's central to most neighborhoods in the loop and a stone's throw away from some of the city's most active nightlife venues. The only thing it doesn't have a lot of is parking, which is limited to a handful of spots in their dedicated lot. Street parking is where it's at for most folks, but that's not always guaranteed. The restaurant itself is one of the most unique in the city and they've certainly made the most out of the layout. The covered outdoor dining is a lovely place to enjoy pizza during good weather days and the interior has the open pizza kitchen, along with a narrow stretch of small'ish tables for mini groups looking to chomp down on a slice or three. I love the setup and enjoy the outside statues and seemingly distinctive decor. Their "tried and true" pizzas float between $28-32 for a large and while substitutions aren't allowed, customized pies are totally a thing. For the most part, their pizzas are solid with the sausage, ricotta, roasted red peppers being one of their most hearty options. I have also enjoyed their white pie with spinach, along with the classic pepperoni and/or plain cheese pie. The margherita tastes fine, but looks nothing like a margherita pie at most NY pizzerias (#2). The New Haven inspired white clam pizza was their most disappointing output for me personally, as it reminded me nothing that I'd see / taste in CT. I appreciate their attention to the fermented dough but sometimes the guys behind the counter overcook the crust a little well, resulting in a slightly tougher bite than usual. Their most expensive pie is the Sicilian, which runs from $31-34 with just plain or pepperoni as the options. The sauce-to-cheese ratio is right, seasoning is a tinge salty, and the "crispy bottom" crust is a bit well done most of the time. Of course, their menu is far more robust than just pizzas. Their cold / hot sub sandwiches sound fun but don't capture the same magic that I've had from most Italian delis in the boroughs. I do give them a solid thumbs up for the effort and would order the Italian assorted or turkey despite the hefty $21 price tag. I haven't yet had their meatball or parm based subs, but I'm going to make it a priority for my next visit. Ultimately, the guys behind the counter are super nice and I love that they sell by the slice. It's not as NYC as I'd like, but anything to bolster the pizza status quo in this town is a step in the right direction. For now, I'll enjoy a slice of Austin here in Houston. ___________ (#1) And Texas in general. (#2) Those diced tomatoes completely throw me off.
